From New Piermont Mayor Nate Mitchell. [Emphasis Added].

At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, we adopted a new law establishing an independent Traffic and Parking Commission that will meet periodically to examine issues and strategies for improvements, and to hear from and inform the public. This important step was one of the recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan that we adopted in 2025, and lays the groundwork for a robust conversation inclusive of all community stakeholders. In the next few weeks, we will need to appoint the members of the new commission, so if you feel you have knowledge or experience that could help elevate that conversation, please reach out to me at nmitchell@piermont-ny.gov

I am also pleased to share that today, our Building Department sent out notices to the various property owners that everyone’s favorite fence is not in compliance with our code and must be removed. Some cleanup of the site is also ordered to comply with our property maintenance requirements, and make sure there are no conditions that are a hazard to public safety. While we do not currently have a timeline as to when those conditions will be remedied, this crucial first step has initiated a process that we will monitor closely until a satisfactory result has been achieved.
