"Tonight,
I am calling for the immediate resignation of Village Mayor Bruce Tucker.
Mayor
Tucker has repeatedly demonstrated a troubling disregard for the voices and
concerns of our residents. His administration's persistent lack of transparency
in governmental affairs has eroded public trust and undermined the principles
of open governance that our community values.
Despite
numerous attempts by residents to engage in meaningful dialogue and provide
input on critical issues, Mayor Tucker has failed to listen and act in the best
interest of Piermont's citizens. Rather, Mayor Tucker has committed our Village
to a future it does not want, and now commits taxpayer dollars to defending
that future. This pattern of neglect and non-transparency is unacceptable and
incompatible with the responsibilities entrusted to our village's leadership.
In
coming days, I will be preparing a Village-wide petition and seeking volunteers
for the gathering of signatures.
For
the sake of restoring trust and ensuring a responsive and transparent
government, I urge Mayor Tucker to step down immediately. It is time for new
leadership that prioritizes the voices of our community and upholds the
standards of accountability and openness that Piermont deserves.
