BOLO: Bay Head’s Garmento-Infested Waters.


“BOLO” is by now well-known as a well-worn acronym originally derived from law-enforcement. It stands for “Be On The Lookout”. In this regard, today’s question is, “What happens after a community excommunicates an undesirable politician under state audit and law enforcement investigation, and that politician then in turn swims towards a different community on another shore?” If you lived in the second community, particularly if you were civic-minded and believed in law-and-order - wouldn’t you want to be warned? I would. 

Moreover, I believe that professional courtesy dictates that warning.

For the last decade and even well before, New Jersey residents have driven north across the Jersey state line into New York to visit the seemingly-idyllic Village of Piermont in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley. It’s right over the border. Yet most visiting guests have been unaware to date of the rank governmental corruption defining Piermont Village Hall from 2018 through the beginning of this year:

Although a few loose ends still exist, the people of the Town of Orangetown and Rockland County have now thankfully taken back Piermont and re-righted the ship of its local village government. The Audit Report by Tom DiNapoli’s Office of the New York State Comptroller, indicating the investigative law enforcement findings on Piermont and its disgraced ex-Mayor Bruce Edward Tucker, is expected to be released imminently:

Is his name familiar? Sure it is. Disgraced ex-Mayor Bruce Edward Tucker is the very same garmento that owned Rainbow Linens, Front Street Smokehouse, and the gangland-style Lava Lounge in Elizabeth, New Jersey a number of years ago. For that matter, he is the very same Bruce Edward Tucker that you will these days find occasionally holing up in none other than his own house in Bay Head, on the Jersey Shore in Ocean County. Hopefully for New Jersey residents, Tucker won’t now try to run for office anywhere near the Barnegat Peninsula a/k/a Barnegat Bay Island anytime soon.

That’s where you come in. 

If he tries to run, make sure that he loses.
