Unhand Piermont!: Kevin Timoney's Moronic Plan For A Redundant And Wasteful Self-Examination.

Once again stumbling badly over his own non-cooperative tongue, here is another transcripted actual answer that candidate Kevin Timoney gave in last Thursday night’s Piermont mayoral debate - this time regarding the all-important challenge of the Village of Piermont’s fiscal responsibility:

Mr. Timoney… The top three challenges you see facing… the Village, and concentrate on one and how you would address it.

KEVIN TIMONEY
Sure. Thank you. I see the top three priorities as zoning, fiscal responsibility, and infrastructure and safety…

For fiscal responsibility, we need to look at… we need to do an internal audit at…[sic] our spending. See what we can cut down as waste and what is redundancy to save us some money. We need to look at the infrastructure and safety[sic]… um[sic]… We need to… I would like to use some of my contracts[sic] from New York City and from the State where I have… um[sic]… with the Emergenc… [sic]… Office of Emergency Management that Housing Preservation and Recovery[sic]. These are things that have already been done that we can use in Piermont and use to our advantage these studies[sic]. [Emphasis supplied].

Aside from first observing that this part of Timoney’s answer was nearly-incomprehensible - and observing that applying New York City findings to Rockland County operations would be akin to dropping a Maserati engine in to a vintage Ford Pinto - let’s nevertheless focus upon what the Boy Wonder was trying to “articulate” last Thursday.

And, after re-reading the above quotation - wait a minute. Kevin Timoney is actually suggesting that the answer to Piermont fiscal responsibility, is for the reptilian Tucker-phile miscreants in Piermont Village Hall to do a self-evaluation? The same enterprise that just put Village finances into a Net Position hole approaching ten million dollars? With Kevin Timoney himself, the Tucker-planted successor, leading the initiative?

That is utterly and totally preposterous. That would be like asking Bernie Madoff if he was in compliance with federal securities laws.

SEC: “Are you in compliance, Bernie?”...

MADOFF: “Yeah, we’re all good”.

SEC: “Okay, then”.

Moreover, why would even a political neophyte like Kevin Timoney think that an internal self-audit done by him and a bunch of low-life petty dirtbag Tucker-sycophant bureaucrats, would somehow take precedence over the imminent New York State Comptroller’s Audit report examining the exact same numbers and facts?

Why would Timoney’s self-evaluation even be needed at all?

(That’s a rhetorical question).

And yet, “candidate” Kevin Timoney actually wants to spend Piermont taxpayer money on a totally redundant and unnecessary Village Hall self-examination, that we all already know will be overtaken in all respects by the Comptroller’s Audit Report, that uncovers all of lame-duck Bruce Tucker’s malfeasance anyway? With this clueless and small-minded campaign promise alone, Kevin “TIMBO” Timoney has now truly distinguished himself as this year’s Moronic Mayoral candidate. Another accolade for Junior’s mantelpiece.

During last Thursday night’s Piermont mayoral debate, Kevin Timoney said barely a word about the ongoing Comptroller Audit of his own mentor Bruce Tucker and the Village of Piermont. Again, the Audit and Investigation are being conducted by Tom DiNapoli’s Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC). The Audit and attendant law enforcement Investigation have been going on in Piermont Village Hall for over the past two calendar years. Kevin Timoney has occupied that same Village Hall as a Zoning Board of Appeal (ZBA) member or alternate since well-prior to the commencement of OSC’s Risk Assessment. Timoney knows what OSC is doing.

In fact, the only time that Kevin Timoney cited Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s office during last Thursday night's Piermont mayoral debate, Timoney actually malaprop-pronounced DiNapoli’s office as “Comp Troller”[sic], instead – like this:

[Kevin Timoney]:
“Sure… So as I’ve mentioned and you probably are getting bored, I have 20 years public service experience, um[sic]… but with that, it…[sic] comes knowledge of how government works. I know how long procurements take, I know how long to get a contract[sic], I know how long it takes to negotiate with vendors and to… [pause]… work the system. I know… what[sic]… when you’re filing stuff with the Comp Troller[sic], the ins and outs and how to get something done. It’s… something… that takes over time a process to learn[sic]… um… No one ever said government is quick, but at least when you know the ins and outs, you know how to make it a quicker process for everyone and we’re not getting stalled and we’re not getting… pressured that we’re not meeting a deadline.” [Emphasis supplied].

Wait a minute. “Stuff with the Comp Troller”?... And Timoney “knows the ins and outs”?...

Really?...

Timoney “knows how government works”?...

Really?...
